Reflections of nature: Shedding layers

There is this beautiful peeling tree in my backyard. Its bark is coming off in big slabs, and underneath it is a smooth mint green new skin.
When I discovered this tree, it gave me great joy for a couple of reasons. First of all, I love peeling things! So I happily gave it some assistance in its shedding process (only the pieces that were totally ready to come off of course).

Also, to see this tall tree, which has obviously been around for a while, going through a process of revealing new skin, thrilled me. I saw it as an important reminder that regardless of age, shedding layers is a necessary component of growth to transform you or your life into something new and fresh. This tree is always growing older, yet part of its aging process is to release the old and make way for the new.

What are you shedding or releasing, to allow fresh skin to shine through? Please share in the comments below.

Lots of love and happy weekend!
